I have been told patience yields roses

That thee who wait on faithfully achieve

I have been told a story of a great man

A man that walked the earth like all

As at birth he knew not his life’s purpose

Like we he lived to become what he dreamt

And only great he dreamt to become

life with all its fullness is what he saw,

His heart was set to victory at the end

He dreamt, believed and waited on

for he knew his day would come

that moment would present its self

and he would take it with open arms

cause he had a strong faith, he had Christ

The World Has Forgotten All About It

Some Human Beings Consider It Unseriousness

Others Have A Strong Belief That It Is A Form Of Manipulation

When Offered, Usually It Is Ignored, Rejected

Hearts Have Become Cold, Hard Boiled

The World Delights In Having Nothing To Do With It

It Has Been Left To The Youngsters

Those That Seemingly Know Nothing About The Hardship Of Life

Maturity Is Weighed In How Less Often You Do It

The World Has Actually Rejected The Sunshine

The True Wiper Of All Tears

The World Has Forgotten All About It

And Turned To All Sorts Of Manipulations Of Happiness

A Beer Or Two, An Injection Of So Called ‘Go High And Fly’

The World Has Forgotten All About It

The World Has Forgotten To Smile

Take me from all these arms stretched out Call out to my name, from those at mind let your lips croon to my ears acceptance lift my heart with in to a feel of happiness Say it’s my house where you will lay at dusk With your head pressed upon my chest To awake me in dawn with your wonder smile And the world shall today open wide for you. Save me today, let me not leave here alone Open my mind to a fairly land, make me new Let me walk above all earth’s greatness And for that moment it shall all be mine My feet’s’ path shall be any man’s desire My stand a model for all victory accounts With you here, it will come still and silent For history shall only come to speak of us Today, this day is different and so bright Saw how the skies opened up to the morning The winds brushed by against the trees With all swaying rhythmically side to side Like everything was to a sound of a love song God must have been listening in last night That it all comes to now, this moment, you here truly today is that day I get my feel of happiness.

A Time Lapse Within Which To Make The Change Desired

A Lesson To Learn Yet Within A Only The Limited Time Available

A Deadline Fast Approaching

A Situation Undesirable If Goal Not Yet Achieved

A Window Of Opportunity Flashing Only For A While

Lasting For Only A Seemingly Brief

And Quickly Shortening Moment.

Dreams Once Only Dreamt Now Realised

Ideas Once Only Far Fetched Now Within Reach

But Only All Achievable Within A Window Of Opportunity

Opportunity Only Lasting For

A Quickly Shortening Moment.

Still Urged By Desire To Win

Moved By The Challenge Only Increasing

Pressing On With A Fantasy,

To A Dream But Still Believing In The Possibility

Trusting And Believing In The Great I AM

Pressing On To Maximised

The Opportunity While It Lasts

Knowing That The Opportunity Lasts

Within A Window Of Opportunity

To Be Optimised.

Real men shed tears,
We aren't teddy bears,
Men that kills their emotion,
Dies in slow motion.

Little by little they die,
Men that don't cry,
Men that cage tears in their eyes
When the need to shed tears arise.

We see men in excruciating pain
And smiles they feign,
With pilled up tears in the eyes,
Unshed tears, kept! Why?

An emperor can lose his emperess,
But his tears, he have to supress,
For him not to be seen as a weakling.
Don't we have feelings?

Men are taught not to be broken hearted,
But they can be cold hearted,
'Big boys don't cry' they say,
But on the inside they die day by day.

Is shedding tears a sin?
Why do we despise acting as human beings?
Why are we just being human
And don't give a damn?

Asking men not to cry, but rejoice,
In situations we ought to cry in clear voice,
What has the society turned us to?
Is shedding tears a taboo?

Should I say or not; tell me,

Tell me now what am to say?

Acquaint my heart with your desires

and my blood shall flow of them.

Read my breath and let this stay.

Smile and give me my daily dream,

let it come to life before my eyes

with butterflies, stars floating round

clouds kissing down to the earth.

Keep me in my dream and let this stay.

Draw me this moment unending

and let it rest by my heart forever.

Will me this glow that you bare

crow it blandly to my whole being.

Give me you, us and let this stay.

Save me and keep me close to you

bestow my life with a purpose to be

and set me out to a new beginning

where I shall have you in my arms

say yes and let this, right here stay.

Who do we be among, these on earth? do we be those that lead along the path falling to open ground and so vulnerable, made prey of the hungry birds in the airs, that seed which never lasts at least a day as birds pick it up as it falls to ground. Do we be those that lead to rocky grounds? Those that sprout out quickly from the soils, so beautiful from the first glance of them though truthfully with not deep roots as the soils are shallow and not enough that they are dried to the heat of the sun. Do we be those that lead to thorny bushes? That grow blindly to what’s before them, wishing to be taller than those above them and unknowingly, choked by the thorns, thorns, the bushes they blindly walked to an early end that they never thought of; Or do we be those that lead to fertile soils that rise strong and tall from the ground; soils of plenty and no thorny bushes grow. Soils a seed grows and produces grain hundreds of thousands of good grain for seasons of now and tomorrow. Which of these seeds have we become? (So listen then if you have ears.) Matthew 13:18-23

At many occasions we find ourselves complaining of being treated unfairly. Kind of makes me wonder if there is anything on this planet that’s fair? Yeah that’s what I thought. I asked a couple of people if they would tell a friend that he or she was being nosy. Some said they would boldly tell that person. Others would let it go even if they are uncomfortable. To others they would ignore the person. Well you see neither of the answers is fair because when I asked them how they would feel if they were told so, all of them said they would feel bad and sad. Is it fair?

Let’s go back to how humans are structured, when I feel sad about it raining on me, someone else is rejoicing that it rained immediately they stepped into the shade. 150 People set out to apply for jobs and you pray to God that you get the place, that you are the best person for the job,  but how about the 149 other people applying for the same spot?  The churches lately are many and that is a good thing, the issue is, why is there competition of who has a bigger crowd? Is it not the same gospel being preached? Would it be fair to church (A) that a pastor of church (B) is spreading rumors about the leadership in church (A), and this does not exclude other institutions and organisations in competition.

See here’s the point I am trying to make sense of: Is there any possibility that it’s because of our nature, our humanity that nothing is fair at all? Why do we place all our energy in the law, determining who gets to be behind bars and who doesn’t. Who gets to live and who gets to die. Since when do we get to play God and judge? Humans always want answers, but what if not all questions have answers right now? Are we going to believe in the theories that have explained different phenomenon but still have loopholes?

Everyone expects to be treated fairly. When something is not fair it is most likely to be viewed as naturally wrong or even evil. People have gone from a culture and society that is built on an idea of equal chances and opportunity into a culture that expects equal outcome. We live in a dimension that demands fairness at all times and in all respects. Look at the feminism theorists they believe female gender deserves equal right with the male. They assume that there is nothing a man can do a woman cannot do.

According to the Ugandan constitution, “ -No person shall be deprived of life intentionally, except in execution of a sentence passed in a fair trial by a court of competent jurisdiction in respect of a criminal offence under the laws of Uganda and the conviction and sentence have been confirmed by the highest appellate court”. Perhaps everywhere else the world alludes to the same sense in the above statement. How fair is a murderer walking freely just because evidence was not proved beyond reasonable doubt? And in any case how fair is judgment? Should we let the wrong doers go away with evil cases? After all we are not the judges of life.

Life is not always fair.  Ecclesiastes 9:11, TLB. "Again I looked throughout the earth and saw that the swiftest person does not always win the race, nor the strongest man the battle, and that wise men are often poor, and skillful men are not necessarily famous." God is not calling for equal treatment, but merely that we would follow the Golden rule to do unto others as we would have them do unto us.  God does not seek to be fair.

For instance, Jesus treated different groups of people differently in terms of access to him during his time here on earth. He reminds us that he gives us all the same grace regardless of merit, effort and time.  The fact is that we have done nothing to merit the grace of God given to us in the redemption of our souls through the death and resurrection of Christ, and if God were interested in being fair, we would all be condemned rather than redeemed through Christ.

WHAT IS IT

They say it is rare some say it is a gift

One that can be possessed by the lucky ones

One that is immensely felt you lose yourself

And so when you are there it is eternity

You are crazy you can barely notice who you are.

They just don’t get it

They say its confusion

It is bearable confusion an understandable one

Even when you are feeling it you don’t know if it is what you are feeling

It is you doubting what you see

It is an immortal image of one’s fantasies

They just don’t get it

They say it does not discriminate

Some say it strikes hard you don’t get up when you are struck

So why does it get you so blindly hurt

They just don’t get it

It is what it is and when you feel it you realize that there is more to life than what you see on the street

If you can find love then you can forget everything you said

My work is not just poetry

nor is poetry the words on paper

for its more and much wider

a chapter of a life uncovered

a shout of an unheard voice within

speaking aloud to all souls

crying out so they may hear

through the waters to plains

of a gladness in news it carries

echoing to the longest of caves

heard to ears said to be deaf

miraculous happenings and works

that my eyes have come see

and sweetness of word I’ve read

as it says on earth here he came

lived among we, that persecute him

but with his life I was reborn

he shade his blood for my sake

and through him I am forgiven

today I sing he’s alive forever

for death too he defeated

am so glad he saves me.

I have been told that am beautiful;

he met me on my way to the river,

that i am a princess in a far land

a royalty of some great kingdom,

that i have a seat in a big palace

next to the king’s am to be seated,

this king whom i, me, calls father.

That i have a bedroom of my own

or, you may call them chambers,

my own carriage of white horses,

horses, beauty eyes haven’t seen.

He told me so, that i am royalty,

that am not like those around me

as i have what none has received

and seen power not thought to be.

A power of love, forgiveness, peace,

one that can be received from one,

my father, the king of the kingdom,

ruler of all that was, is or will be,

the beginning and the end of all life,

he gives life and he receives it back..

I have accepted my role in this life

and this gave me the status i have.

my acceptance to let him lead me

guide me through this long trail

has yielded me royalty, abundance

and i seek not anything more now,

as i belong to the highest of class

now that i am a daughter of Christ.

Father, it's me who dwells in a place of
despair and with little hope.
Father, it's me who my children cry out
for help and love.
Father, it's me in the middle of a
raging and unforgiving storm.
Father, it's me who has been wrapped in
love some many times, perhaps many times
undeserving.
Father, it's me who has fallen from the
broken and battered sidewalk.
Father, it's me you have graced and
shielded from a world of sin.
Father, it's me that gave up and almost
quit.
Father, it's me you gave directions
to clear both my heart and mind.
Father, it's me who's blessed and shelter-
ed from the wolf dens of life.
Father, it's me who you walked with and my loved ones in the many roaring storms of sadness.
Father, it's me you gave a song, and
it is I that must teach my children to
obey.
Father, it's me who must journey near
and far in trust and with love that you
will never leave my side.
Father it's me because of you, as I must
glorify thy name. Father, remember it's
me that you made and keep to task and
on course. Amen and amen.

There is a walk ahead

i have been told about it

it’s to raise the silent voices

make the unheard heard

heal the wounded souls.

There is a walk ahead

i have been told about it

it’s to unite all skins together

make the world colourless

heal the wounded souls.

There is a walk ahead

i have been told about it

it’s to end the many wars

make peace talks the solution

heal the wounded souls.

There is a walk ahead

i have been told about it

it’s to reach to all nations

make Christ’s word heard

heal the wounded souls.

Since my heart beats to your cadence

My whole then I shall place before you

With mind ready to become with you

feet walk to walks of your direction

eyes vision through your own scopes

ears listen to that your lips speak

nose search for only your flawless scent

and my hand twined to your own

all that is me then shall be yours

Let me see to be victorious this day

with my heart’s desire brought before me

and my whole being at peace with it there

come share with me of this the LORD blesses

for he commissioned it be done this way

that my heart shall seek your out

and together with love all we shall conquer

as its he that loves and teaches us

this way I too stand to become like he

to this commitment that I say yes to

that forever I shall become yours each day

and each day I shall forever in him

for in his name I promise you princess.

On my knees I am today

to pray, talk to my father

call to his righteous name,

his healing hand, his blood

blood that washes clean.

I am confessing my sins

thanking him for what i have

bringing my fears to him

for i know that he listens

as he promised he would.

Today i run the plains of this land

shouting, calling out to him

he shall hear me and come down

he will dry my tear-filled eyes

heal e  of my own sicknesses

comfort me in my lonely walks.

Father, mother; I shall come home

as his told me the war is won

and he has his angels above our lands

that will light up our land with blessings

i have the faith and i believe

And that’s all I need, for its enough

Where did the life vanish to?
The breathe that was in this land
a joy, peace, a family that was
that had a power so stronger
unity that seemed unbreakable
love that was blood tight
where did it all vanish to?

This a question my son asked,
why the many blood shades
tears, wars, divisions among us
death is all we think of, want
another in pain seems our joy
why dad, why not peace, oneness,
a river of fresh waters not blood
fountains of love than curses
dad, why not humanity than---?

Stay awake on this day oh my soul

and let not sleep overwhelm your eyes.

Watch on to what’s to come your way,

as these days and hours are dark

and evil walks beyond its confines,

slily to find its way into our wombs,

into that inner self, our tick of life

where it wishes to sow all its seed,

seed meant to work us to our shame

leaving us broken and lost to our way.

Pray hard on this day oh my soul

and let our Lord come take the wheel,

surrender to him the burden you weigh

as you alone are weak to carry it,

take off the coat of pride you wear,

that mask of lies on your face

and be his child again that he knew.

Let your broken heart rest in his presence,

as only there it shall find full peace,

for its he that authored all that is.

Give me a life like his lord

Let me be known a thief now

Than after here is all done

Have stones thrown at me today

Not tomorrow when you come

Lord give me his life please

Give me days of tears now

So joy I shall get after then

Troubles come crumbling today

And awake victorious day next

As it awaits me just ahead

Lord give me that moment

A time to see your holiness

See your blood flow for my sake

To cleanse me clean for home

A chance to say the same words

‘Remember me lord, when you’re home’

Come beautiful one that my heart seeks

Come let my eyes be blessed by your beauty

Come share with me this moment here

For it was and is meant for you and i

And it shall forever become the beginning

Come beautiful let’s think together

Come lets share of this at my heart

Come listen to the words written at heart

For it speaks of you and you alone

And how being you has ---

Come, beautiful and speak to my ears

Come let’s sing this song together

Come and we harmonise of our voices

For with you I can sing this song

And forever it shall become ours

Come beautiful that stands apart

Come lets write on this paper our story

Come start with me our own legend

For with you we can author the world

And forever it shall become ours

Come beautiful one and be my love

Come thee that I call my own princess

Come lets build the walls of our kingdom

For with only you i can raise them

And then they shall forever stand strong

When You Touch Me, I Feel My Skin

Your Different Characters Into One.

There may be moments in your life where there seems to be no life and joy. Where it feels like you are walking through a tunnel and you can not see the light at the end. At times life can feel like, you are falling over a cliff and you do not seem to make sense out of life.

It is in such moments where you need to trust God, to surrender every thing and cast it all at His feet. Back in the day when the Israelites were at the Red Sea, and the Egyptian army was drawing in on them, they must have felt in their hearts that God had abandoned them; that it was a setup to have them destroyed or may be some sort of punishment.

But as you and I know, this was not the case. For a fact, they were at the banks of that sea or a long time. The bible does not record how long, but I believe that it was long enough for doubt to rise up in them, fear to accumulate, joy of deliverance to be stripped off and feelings of rejection to manifest.

There are points in life where we are in the position of these Israelites. The mistake they made was to curse, to doubt, to grumble, and to worry rather that believe and trust God. But when God was approached in prayer, He did that which in history had never happened, He went against the laws of nature He had set in place and altered the natural flow of the River and made it stand still and create walls. He still held up the waters until all His people had crossed over to the other side.

It is in similar moments in our lives that we need to make a choice, to take a stand, decide to trust-even when it all seems hopeless. God desires that we trust Him, to believe that He can do anything just for His people. There is surely no greater comfort than to trust a God at whose word the heaven and the earth were formed, at whose command all nature remains in balance.

Let’s cease to worry about solutions and focus on God who is ever willing to deliver us. Simply talk to God about it all and leave it at His feet. Trust that He can .Believe that He will pull it off for you because he loves and cares about you.

God bless you

So it may not devour you anymore

Confide in me and today shall be new

Hold my hand, let me walk on for you

place your feet right after mine

And let me walk through with you

Lost at heart, soul and in their walks

Made by and for greater have i been

as am not like all but only he that knows me.

Am to walk floors of gold and diamond,

eat of the finest foods there ever to be

with a life spelt of beautiful abundance

for I is his son he that is called king.

I am a prince in my father’s house,

this I have been told and I know.

I walk surrounded by fleets of angels

some laid down for my feet to sit

while others stand by for I may speak;

I a son of the one who is forever

You ask then why I cry today; if I be a king’s son,

why my feet are torn to many thorns

and my lips eat of want is left on your plate?

Would be it that my father wants me not

and my prince-ship now a dream I have to live

am I forgotten to the darkness of this earth?

Fear not for me and my prince-ship crown

as my father rules greater than to the eye

Am from lands above this earth we walk,

with a life beyond flesh and all its pleasures.

By grace I will walk through my life’s purpose

then my crown shall await me in my father’s hands.

Take me with you; leave me not

See my mind is ready I decided

Am ready yes am sure it time

This is what I want, I need it

Lets run away together forever

Lets wonder the worlds together

My answer is yes; yes am ready.

Am told sunsets are all beautiful

And they all always come at day end

But was never told the eye only loves one

My eye saw this one with it I melted

Stood still to the beauty of its presence

It was different, it was not beautiful

It was that which beauty itself is

I won’t let go of this yes am now ready

You asked whether my lips speak for me

Whether I hear the words in my song

If the ink flows straight from my heart

And if my soul has really willed to this

You ask if am ready to walk this road

my answer is yes my lips speak for me

yes I hear and have listened to my song

yes my heart authors this ink that flows

yes am ready now and yes will marry you.

What makes her so beautiful?

Her nails are broken, Her hair unkept.

Her only daughter has an illegitimate son

By the hands of an unknown rapist.

She toils under the blistering sun,

Filling in for her deceased husband.

Feeding family, keeping them strong.

Hardship and fatigue race through her,
Leaving trails of wrinkle on her face

Life must be unfair!

Yet. Amidst her glaring sufferings,
I see her blazing smiles.

Her broken lips may hurt, yet she grins a-wide.
Everyone's lost in ponders, and i'm lost a-musing:

What is her secret?

Who knows the tears that flood her bed every night?

Who knows what she would ride, if wishes were horses?

Who knows the silent prayers she make at the altar?

Life's been tough.

But never underestimate the strength of a mother.

That woman...

She's strong And she's beautiful.

The heart that cries—let it but hear

Of all I shall regret saying in my life these words to you shall never be among and of all life has given me, you remain, you professed a place and purpose in it became not a part of it but its princess for my heart and soul too bowed to you it was and is you i had to tell those words. Stay; please don’t walk away from me Pretty and perfect; you are here and now As I see you, here and now I see only you who has just made me a fairly moment; So let this moment we have here remain Give me a chance; let me make it all ours Everlasting in our hearts and those around. Close your eyes princess, there I shall be, Stretch your arm out; I shall reach to it Smile to me and my day shall be brighter Call out my name and I will come to you Cause I ‘be here, close here, waiting on For the voice of my princess to make it real Waiting patiently the day you’ll say yes.

You take the breath out of me
It seems this heart of mine can't explain.
The ground beneath my feet freezes,
Yet we hold on tight and stay still.
This place once lonely now feels alive.
If words can't describe this, what can.
I'm only praying that nothing changes.

You are the only joy I had ever known.
A heart once cold now feels warm.
It feels more than just a dream to me.
Having you so close to me feels paying.
I don't have to wait for love no more.
Something had to remind me
Of how great life is and can be.

You make it easier to live everyday
If you ever wonder why I look at you
Well it's because your eyes give me hope.
So charming, bright and stunning.
I cry now looking at the way you love.
How can a person like me deserve you.
And if you ask me now, how it feels
To have you, and to hold you?
I will say, it makes me want to come home.

He is---,

the breath you take in

that smile on your face

the warmth within you

he is you at your best.

He is---,

the calm oceans and seas

those soft sounds around

a sweet scent in the air

he is in all there is.

He is---,

the way, truth and life

our messiah and king

beginning, end of it all

he is LORD, God.

In the driver seat there is someone I know
This person is no friend or foe
But a person that I met so long ago
This person has been there in that seat
Steering along this narrow street
Over ups and downs and old concrete
She still seems to make ends meet
In the passenger seat he wasn't for long
He felt as if he did not belong
So she pushed that aside and kept herself strong
And kept us steering along
She would not cry or complain
But I could see her pain
And the look in her eyes I could not explain
In the back seat sits my sister and I
Just along for the ride
Being driven by somebody with compassion and pride
In this ride of life
I have realized one thing
That no matter how hard it gets
It's always clear
In every hour, minute, day of the year
My mom will always be there

Listen, the trumpets call hear them sound intelligibly, sounding from the heavens calling out to all that hear the time has come, it is now, time we fought our battles chose where we are to belong for the end of all is near now. Listen to them sound so loud crying out to us of no faith, that have not found the way we that decide to close our eyes, shut our ears to the truth held by what this earth has a worthless humps of dust we cry for our ignorance and a disease of foolish pride.

There was a time in Uganda when music was not something the world would look up to leave alone the generation of our parents when the Paul Job Kaferos rocked, Afrigo band and the likes.
It is that time that one would think that rock music was evil it was always associated with Satan sometimes referred to as secular music.
At that time in Uganda you would barely notice a rock song hell we didn’t even know what Rock music was. We used to watch Aerosmith on television and think what the...?
Is he mad he looks like evil and just let it go or change stations immediately. Then you would watch a Cold play video or linkinpark and think this is just crap loud guitars and drums what is that?

Rock in Uganda today does the thing it is the food you it and some even sleep with it.
And yours truly guilty as charged and I don’t care I can be charged am not letting Rock go. Unless of course it does let me go which in that case I will hold on to it before it disappears into thin air.
For people who do not understand what I am saying let me take you through the phase of life with rock that is "the evil music". It is the beginning of the day and it is only going to be a good day if you listened to Nickel back’s "if today was your last day" this is going to take you through all the hardships of the day because trust me you would want to spend it evenly to the fullest you could.
And when you are really angry at people who control your life you wake up to Bon Jovi’s "it my life" this does make you feel like your in control of your own life even when in actual sense you are not that is what rock does to your day makes it a better one puts in life for what the day is.
You can not help but feel every instrument in detail it is called appreciation of what makes you alive.

Am not going to list all the rock stars I know in the world they are numerous but everyone should have an idea what I am talking about there is a time for every track in you music collection its not the case with rock on the contrary when you get this music you will not get it out of your player because it will be appropriate for any time in doesn’t matter what mood you going to have.

Lord Give Me A Heart Transplant.

Make Me Uncomfortable If I Exploit A Brother For Another Dollar.

Move Me To Repentance If I See A Sister Suffer Guilt, Shame,

And Sorrow From That Which I Could Have Caused Her.

Lord Give Me A Heart Transplant

Purge My Heart To Discomfort When Babies

Continually Die In Abortion Procedures

Purge My Heart To Discomfort When Corruption & Piracy

Constantly Consume The Moral Fibre Of Society

Lord Give Me A Heart Transplant

May My Heart Be Concerned With The Need For A

Home For The Homeless, Hope For The Hopeless

And A Meal For The Hungry

May My Heart Be Concerned With The Need For

Restoration & Redemption For The Youth Lost

To Substance And Sexual Abuse.

Lord Give Me A Heart Transplant.

Give Me A Heart That Concedes Beguilement

By Your Goodness, Guiding Me To Repentance;

A Heart Humbled By Your Grace, Mercy, Kindness,

And Favour, Ushering Me To Gratitude;

I Need A Heart That Yearns To Learn

To Live By Your Precepts,

Maturing Into More Like You Stirring Up

A Desire To Your Likeness;

A Heart That Seeks To Discard That Which You

Despise And Disconsern Itself From That Which Discomforts You.

Lord I Need A Heart Transplant

Speak to me my dear love

shut me not from your heart;

let your eyes keep me at sight.

Tell me of what you desire

and I will walk this whole earth,

move the world and universe;

till the day you receive your wish

for all I can do, all is possible

as all I promised if you asked;

if you let me come close to you

as my only desire has always---

forever will be your happiness,

joy and life in all its fullness for you;

so let me in today and don’t look back.

They say you know victory and have seen it all;

claim you have walked lands and galaxies

fought in the fiercest of battles, wars and won

against the fresh and against the spiritual forces,

that you have commanded the greatest of armies;

not only armies but even the swords they used,

lands that they fought on and their enemies;

You commanded rains to destroy all the earth

but spare an ark where your people made shelter,

you held them up for forty days and forty nights;

above a flooded earth till you made dry land.

Upon Sodom you commanded a storm of fire

a city that spoke and lived against your will

and all life there was burnt down to dust.

You made way for your Israelite children

commanding the Red Sea to split and make way.

Walls of Jericho you sent down crumbling,

walls thought so strong; unbreakable they said

but it still came down at the sound of your voice

and victory then it was for the army of Israel.

You commanded the lions at Daniel’s cry to you,

kept Jonah in the belly of a whale for three days

and Goliath ‘a great warrior’ you easily defeated;

with a young shepherd of faith and a tiny stone,

he fell to the ground and never again got up.

At your command a child by a virgin was born;

one that lived among us but still was greater,

he walked on water, healed the sick and raised the dead.

It was your son, your only son Christ

by whose death on the cross my life I got back.

Through whom my mountains crumbled.

A promise you made before and still hold.

I remember that day

my brain froze of thought

a cold swept my skin,

my blood boiled within

as my eyes wetted my face

i wanted to say it all,

free my soul of its chains,

let it go, explore the world,

spread my wings out wide

take that step to its life beauty,

play its song to your ears,

write out a new chapter

a chapter of tomorrow

ask you for your hand

and lead you forth.

I remember that day,

the day you said I DO

THE BABY

The baby that love is

It is not what you call perfect

It is not what we fantasize about when we are teenagers in high school

It is not what we think will come of the person you want to have

It is not living every minute very happy

It is not living to the future

It is like a baby

One that grows from fragile

It crawls and the more it crawls the tougher it gets

So tired that it gets to walk but love is not eternal

Love is a living plant

One that has to lose the buds when they crop up

One that has to be corrected when wronged

Love needs to be nurture like a child

It might die to you

But it cannot die if you nurture it

Smile when you have to

Cry when you have to

Beat it up when you have to

Treat it like the baby it is

And the plant that it is

For it always needs to be taken care of and nurtured

That’s the baby I know love is.

It is commonly said that good girls like bad boys for a number of reasons. That might be true because I used to like them.  And they were fun to be with…as long as it lasted. But after a number of senseless heartbreaks later and the sudden realization that my clock was ticking with no intention of slowing down, I decided to get serious. And by serious, I meant from graduating from the unserious guys with boyish brains to serious ones who actually had an idea what they wanted their lives to look like in the next five years at least. And oh boy, what a filter that was!

So I got invited to a church youth concert by a friend and since I was fed up with what the world had to offer (I think the world has run out of ideas, really) I wanted to taste life on the other side. I used to be active in church when I was young but I grew out of it as I grew up. Life happened.

The concert was great and it made me miss the good old churchy days. And the best part was my attention being stolen by one of the lead singers of the church’s choir (yeah, carnal me, I know). And an innocent inquiry about him from my friend informed me he was single and pleasant. Yippee! I suddenly felt like dancing…hard. Who said all the fine guys could be found in clubs? It was a lie from the pit of hell!

With the added incentive, I began to frequent the various church meetings and with subtle, deliberate actions grew close to Fine Church Boy. When he started to notice me with the waves and dashing smiles he sent my way, I knew the foundation had been well laid. But there was a problem. He was selective with the kind of girl he associated with. She had to be…a walking Bible. That was a challenge I was ready to take. Being a church girl wasn’t such a big deal…I could definitely dress, act and talk the part.

But alas, I wasn’t the only girl ‘spying’ Fine Church Boy in the congregation. And this girl was damn serious. I thought church girls wouldn’t fight over a guy…I was so wrong. I think church girls fought harder. Even found a verse to that effect…something about the violent taking it by force. She knew I liked him and she made sure I knew she wanted him too. This was going to be a violent ‘godly’ fight.

So there was an outreach coming up where volunteers were needed to spend time with some kids at the orphanage. And of course, Fine Church Boy being a part of the outreach committee was going. I was contemplating going because of some plans I had but that changed when I saw Ms. Church Rival raising her hand to be a volunteer. I knew it would be a terrible mistake not to go so before I could think things through, my hand shot up in the air and my name was put down. She gave me the typical ‘game on’ face which I responded in like manner.

Little did I know that the outreach was a testing ground for elimination and Ms. CR and I were the subjects. And since I was new to the whole church life, I didn’t really prep myself for the outreach thing and what was expected of me. One of the leaders spoke to the kids about God’s unconditional love for mankind and I began to reminisce about my Sunday school days. One of the little girls asked a question and imagine the shock when the leader directed it to me to answer. Both Fine Church Boy and Ms. Church Rival were there, their eyes fixed on me, waiting for an answer. It was one of those questions which required a supporting Bible verse and there I was, a Bad Girl Gone Good like me who couldn’t think of one verse to say. Stammering be what?! My throat dried up at once and my body felt like it was on fire.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Ms. CR had to come to my rescue with one of those perfectly thought out sentences. The leader nodded in approval and clapped which everyone joined in.  She gave me a triumphant look but what put me down was the disappointed look on Fine Church Boy’s face. I knew I had failed the test.

When the session ended, I rushed to him just to redeem myself. But he didn’t waste time mincing words.
“I’m sorry but in my journey with God, I need someone who equally walks with Him to be with. It’s obvious church isn’t your thing. I noticed you’ve been coming regularly but you still have a long way to go. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t attracted to you but considering where I’m headed right now, attraction is the least factor I’m interested in.”

So here I was, heartbroken by a church boy even before anything could begin between us. And Ms. Church Rival carried the day, hanging around with him like a trophy girl. I’d be lying if I was harboring murderous thoughts against her.

But I got myself together. I couldn’t go back to my old life; there was nothing left for me there. So I decided to fall in love with the God of the church. After all, He’s called Lover of our soul, right? And I definitely needed some divine loving; I was too broken and I couldn’t mend myself.

With the help of my friend and a few others belonging to the fellowship, I developed a relationship with God and I must say, it has been the best decision I ever made. I felt confident about myself and complete also. For the first time, I felt whole without having to refer myself to being someone’s girlfriend to feel complete. That was a great feeling.

After some months, a rumor broke out about my Fine Church Boy putting Ms. Church Rival in the family way. Church members began to shun him and he looked depressed. I reached out to him and offered my friendship. He was surprised I of all people would be the one to be there for him. So was I, this was a whole new me and I was surprising myself each and every day.

Then the truth came out that the pregnancy wasn’t his after all; it belonged to the guitar guy. Huh, guys will always be guys, right…no matter where you met them. But Church Boy still punished himself for getting involved with her in the first place and he began to feel unworthy to be part of God’s family. I did my best to assure him that all was not lost. I was a perfect example of all hope lost but even I got a second chance with God. As they say, time heals all wounds and so did his.

Months passed and we got engaged. A year later, we got married! I liked a church boy but it was only until I fell in love with his God first before I could fall in love with him. Indeed, all things work for the good for those who love Him…!

Lord, it's a mountain you gave me to climb,
and I've had my share of mountains behind.
Each time I've climbed I depended on faith
to guide me along with each step I take.
But Lord, the path gets so rocky at times;
I feel I can't go on in these ol' shoes of mine.
Rugged, worn, torn and abused,
I sometimes forget the purpose for which they are used.
Please give me strength to continue on.
Please give me courage for this journey unknown.
And when my shoes no longer hold to my tired and weary feet,
please help me to remember shoes are not needed on heaven's holy streets

Upon thee my faith I proclaim

he in whom there was and is

alpha and omega he is called

writer of time; yesterday, today and next

the giver of all to my dear soul

here now my whole i pour onto you

if be lost, it to be in your embrace

that it may rise through your goodness.

Today i shall only worship thy name

only to you my king I shall bow

like angels high above in the heavens

singing the words of worship

holy holy holy you are Lord

savior and protector of my soul

the father of love and all about it

my fountain purity against all sin

Listen; listen to my song of redemption

open your ears to this new voice

a good news of his saving grace

he above the highest there to ever be

greater than any other greatness

hear him cry out at Calvary

break us free of our darkness

for his shed-blood we forgiven live

Have I not walked too far for my freshly strength? Labored on slavely to your seemingly endless gain As you watch it drain my pot of salt each day Emptying me of my identity, weakening my strides Bringing me to my knees and down to your arms That keep painting a thick darkness in my eyes Blinding them from your scared deceitful face As you hit me with more loads of shameful fear So I shall never raise to the truth in your eyes And realize how my victory I attained long against you how I am free; a free man and a prince to that in my father’s house by whom my freedom I attain. how foolish your ways are that you enslave a prince and think he shall never to take a knife to your neck as princes were never made to stand among dirt I shall stand strong before these giants of walls And break straight through their concrete mirage That has for long fed on my hope of freedom To one day set my heavy heart and soul free. I will run, I shall run on madly to his feet Chasing on that silent voice I hear in my ears That has always been there calling and whispering Waiting for me to open on to its words of light So it can polish my stained heart clear of darkness For he alone can give me my mirrorily heart.

Now that we are to rebuild these walls

that crumbled at the hands of dark roars

stand guard for the thief is still near

do not close your eyes even at night

for that is when he works to his best

keep your eyes from his shinny illusions

and ears from his slanderous voice

relax not for he wants it back down

as its presence weakens his influence

the stronger and taller it becomes

he loses more of how to get to you.

Stand brother and strengthen your wall

carefully place each brick at its spot

for anywhere else your is weak

and it shall easily fall again to him

dress yourself the helmet of salvation,

and hold that sword of the spirit

so his works shall not reach you

plant holy torches around your walls

so when night time of life knocks

the holy flames light your wall bright

to keep his cunning thought out.

Come let’s build our faith back

reaffirmed our faith in him

decide today to rise back to your purpose

walking the path designed for your feet

let not evil even tell you of shorter ones

for only LORD knows your destination

as its he that designs all your walks

walk on now and fear not what’s ahead

your author and guide loves you

and can never abandon his creation

hold on to his word that he gives you

for that shall lead you home.

Today I saw two sons being born

both with that loud wail they came

innocently eager to meet their destines

to walk that earth and be somebody,

rewrite the thought about their land

they shared a brightness in their eyes.

Today I saw two youthful boys pass by

one with a bag going on to school

running fast to meet his tomorrow,

he held that same brightness in him.

The other with a bunch of firewood

too scared to even hold his head up high,

scared to think, what tomorrow is to be?

Today two men woke up in the morning

one was rushing; he’s to be sworn in today,

sworn in as one of the ministers of state

the other rushed to sit by the roadside,

at least today the minister will see him

maybe, today he will and give him a coin.

Today I saw those two sons of Africa

that were born to be the same, a blessing

but only one got the chance to become

one lived safe and became then, educated

he alone received his right in life.

Easter is a time Christians celebrate the rising of Jesus Christ from the dead, at least that is what it used to be about but as of today it’s a holiday and vacation to some people that break off from work and spend time with family and friends.

Easter has seized being about true worship and communion with God for sparing his only son for humans but it’s now a time to relax and get stress free from all the tensions of work and school.

According to an Easter message by the Arch bishop of Uganda last year, Stanley Ntagali urged people to celebrate Easter by going to church and worshipping the lord, that it was a time to repent and make homes, school, and business places more enjoyable and suitable to glorify God who gives the greatest gift of salvation through his son Jesus Christ.

Resurrection is the basis of everything Christians believe. Christ’s death allowed Christians to be united with God, it also gave hope that they too will live again even after death.

“And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins” (1 Corinthians 15:17)

Boniface Byamukama from Mbarara Church of Christ says Easter is still a time of celebrating Jesus’ resurrection because most people go to church first thing in the morning then later in the day reunite with their families.

He adds that people in the village celebrate Easter basing on its true meaning of the resurrection of Jesus Christ but for others in towns it’s a vacation and a break from work, people often pray for the blood of Jesus to be shed upon all they do, any activities they are carrying on that day simply because Easter is not just a break but a celebration for what, salvation Jesus left for Christians.

Clara kwikiriza a member of Watoto Church says that few people celebrate the true meaning of Easter but rather take on family vacations which is also important but having Christ at the center of everything is the initial and number one priority on Easter.

Easter is still about celebrating the resurrection of Jesus but very few people celebrate the spiritual part of it, many look at family time.

Family bonds are made tight on such days but that does not justify the fact that we are to forget the initial reason why these days exist, Clara adds

Christians should celebrate Easter more than Christmas because Jesus gave up himself as a living sacrifice, died and rose again so that we are saved. Grace Barongo from Watoto Church says

God is holy and cannot co-exist with sin “for the wages of sin is death…” no amount of religious practice or good deeds can balance out our sinfulness and make us holy.

It is not about doing religious things but rather accepting the righteousness God has provided through Jesus Christ, she adds

“Suffered under Pontius Pilate was crucified died and was buried. He descended to the dead and on the third day he rose again” this is the true meaning of Easter which Christians should celebrate.

I turned and turned. A thousandth time. The bench I was sitting on was rough, and my buttocks were blistering. The sun was hurrying to set, yet the Mp wasn’t up. They said that he was tired– from the long flight from the city the previous night. He was just taking a royal nap, a six-hour-long nap. So it was prudent for us to be patient. We waited, forever waited.
At a time when wild winds of political change were blowing fiercely in the Republic of Aynek, most seasoned political bigwigs were beaten by the young energetic greenhorns. However, Mobutu withstood and triumphed over this. He had represented Lusimo Constituency in parliament for the last thirty years. But did he really represent his people or stomach? People ceased not to wonder. In those decades, many a children were born, married and bore children. This generation was damn sure that it was being led by an ancestor. Mobutu was among the few sharp-minded people who knew how sweet power tastes. So he held onto it with both hands and legs.

Among the Aynekians, there is a common saying that if you want a man to worship you, control what goes into his stomach. Aynek is a land of great hunger and poverty. Most irate politicians like Mobutu take advantage of this to bribe voters and live in parliament as if it is their home. He would come with lots of money like sand and scatter all over for his constituents to pick. This usually culminated into violent exchange of fists, kicks and tearing of each other. The fact that he could bring us money, he told us, was an indication of great things to come. Who was there– man enough- to challenge him? We elected and re-elected him. Forever. But once a brilliant young turk rose to challenge him. Rumour had it that he was a government’s project– a conspiracy to weaken the opposition’s vast influence. Mobutu has been enduring the cold in opposition for all his years of disservice to us until recently when he decamped to join the government. ‘‘We need to eat too”, he came telling us. ” And you can’t get any meat to eat when you fight from outside. It’s inviting hunger fighting those in the slaughter house. Wa khwibakilo somukhoma tawe! What’s prudent is to join them. They may sympathize with you and throw a bone to you to lick.”

Mobutu didn’t take the challenge kindly. Nobody likes challenges, especially those designed to break him. He furiously condemned his political enemies and the government for conspiring to put him down. ”They don’t enjoy seeing me striving to emancipate my people from financial slavery,” he cried, then cursed: ”Them foes! Them foes!” He came closer to us– listening keenly to our grievances and literary raining money–than ever in the history of our constituency. To most
of us, it was like god has left the comfort of heaven to be with his people. Hell distanced itself from us for some time. That year, Mobutu won the election with a landslide. His opponent garnered 99 votes only.

Mobutu’s decision to ditch the opposition and join the ruling party wasn’t a welcome idea to anyone. The opposition condemned them for betraying the ideals you have cherished for ages. More so, it was a shot in the back for it meant loss of a massive number of votes from the Western region. A few skeptical brains in the ruling party didn’t like Mobutu at all. One is because they were afraid that he could on a political mission to mess the party and enable the opposition to
triumph. Two is that they knew him as a smart optimist who could maneuver and reap the most. So they started fighting him from the word go. But Mobutu was unbwogable! He is a grand master at political in-fighting; there was nothing new to him.
The newest constitution had created other newest political offices. Like the US, we were going to elect governors and senators in the forthcoming election. Mobutu, like any other politician of his age, saw this and expressed interest in being a senator. ‘‘As you know my people,” he said, ”I’ve served you as an mp for ages and I feel that I’m now too big for that seat. Please give me this bigger one… I’ll be in good position to fight for more money to be sent to our county. You see, such a tough task requires a fearless and no-nonsense fellow like me…” Most opportunists thought that senators and governors will be earning well. They ran for them. Mobutu won the election as his party was part of the Jubilee coalition. The most popular coalition with funny ideologies.

In its campaigns, the Jubilee flag bearers emphasized their desire to foster technological advancement. They pledged to start this by giving every kid a laptop. In addition, they said that maternal health care would be free. Most of us liked it and therefore, to benefit immensely, impregnated our wives again and again. Who didn’t want laptops in their house? But it’s sad to note that to date, nobody has ever seen the face of the Jubilee laptop. And with most schools in
pathetic conditions, one wonders if the laptops would be of any good to hunger-stricken and jigger-infested toddlers were they to be brought today. I don’t want to imagine what happened to the so-called-maternal-health. But things are bad today. Blatant corruption, tribalism, impunity, ignorance, insecurity, poverty etc.
We are under siege!

We have never heard from Mobutu since he went to the senate. His party, which is in power, has not honoured any single promise it made to us. Instead, it is working hard to finish us.

I Thought I Could Make Them Happy

Constantly, I Set A Silver Platter Before Them

Enriched With The Best Of Character

I Displayed The Fullness Of My Inside

I Am Sure I Chose The Best Of Me

Swinging And Moving Their Hands

They Signaled Disgust, I Was Unwanted

I Went To And Fro Hoping And Praying

That My Display Was Right Each Time

Their Scornful Eyes Searching The Beauty Of My Character

As Though It Were Garbage, Useless, Nothing!

I Slowly Raised My Platter And Smiled Ear To Ear

So Plainly And Clearly I Said

“I Guess I Will Try Table 2!”

There is a walk ahead

i have been told about it

it’s to raise the silent voices

make the unheard heard

heal the wounded souls.

There is a walk ahead

i have been told about it

it’s to unite all skins together

make the world colourless

heal the wounded souls.

There is a walk ahead

i have been told about it

it’s to end the many wars

make peace talks the solution

heal the wounded souls.

There is a walk ahead

i have been told about it

it’s to reach to all nations

make Christ’s word heard

heal the wounded souls.

Who do we be among, these on earth?

Do we be those that lead along the path?

falling to open ground and so vulnerable,

made prey of the hungry birds in the airs,

that seed which never lasts at least a day

as birds pick it up as it falls to ground.

Do we be those that lead to rocky grounds?

Those that sprout out quickly from the soils,

so beautiful from the first glance of them

though truthfully with not deep roots

as the soils are shallow and not enough

that they are dried to the heat of the sun.

Do we be those that lead to thorny bushes?

That grow blindly to what’s before them,

wishing to be taller than those above them

and unknowingly, choked by the thorns,

thorns, the bushes they blindly walked to

an early end that they never thought of;

Or do we be those that lead to fertile soils

that rise strong and tall from the ground;

soils of plenty and no thorny bushes grow.

Soils a seed grows and produces grain

hundreds of thousands of good grain

for seasons of now and tomorrow.

Which of these seeds have we become?

(So listen then if you have ears.)

A land I was told about

this where there is only beauty to see,

where voices are shared by many,

hymes sung in unison.

Sweet it was said it would be.

that, that’s heard of but never seen,

yes, promised it was long before now

thou non has ever stepped foot there,

only visions, dreams draw it to us

till that day it will open onto us

but not all shall go in thy place,

nor even have a glance in there

for only faith can take thee forth,

we journey to it through life

towards that grand destiny we trail

awaiting your entry to travel with us

our family of many souls with one body

For That Moment You Were Mine.
You Looked At Me
A Smile So Tender, It Moved Me To Bits
It Was A Smile That Said A Million Things To Me
And For That Moment, You Were Mine And Mine Alone

For That Moment You Were Mine
When We Talked And Everything Felt Right
Time For Me Stopped And Left Me To Enjoy The Moment
When I Looked Into Your Eyes
And All I Could See Was Beautiful
It All Seemed To Fit Perfectly
Until When It Was Time To Wake Up
And For That Moment You Were Mine And Mine Alone

For That Moment You Were Mine Alone
When You Made Me Happy
You Made Me Feel Like Your Queen And You My King
When You Held My Hand And Didn’t Want To Let Go
When You Worried About Me;
My Safety, My Happiness And My Inner Peace
And At Once I Felt We Belonged To Each Other
And For That Moment You Were Mine And Mine Alone.

For That Moment You Were Mine Alone
When I Looked At The Sky And All I Could Think Of Was You.
The Cool Breeze Of The Night Reminding
Me Of How Beautiful It Was That I Felt This Way About You
The Tingling Feeling I Got When I Remembered You Holding Me
The Rush That I Felt When You First Kissed Me
Your Kiss Was More Than Spectacular, It Was A Dream Comes True.
For You To Kiss Me, Under The Moonlight And Use Your Arms To Warm Me
It Was An Electrifying Moment
That Still Gives Me Shivers Just By Thinking About It.
We Didn’t Last Long But For The Time We Were Together,
I Believed That You Were Mine And Mine Alone.

The race is on, and it’s hard.

a run from what we’ve become,

a darkness that’s crept onto us

eaten the our moral bone dry,

stripped it of its wonder innocence

slammed with guilt and rejection.

the race to salvation is here,

a run to tranquility, oneness,

blessings wait to be embraced

as winds of festivity flow ahead;

waves of a better life sweep in,

life of mutual trust and respect.

the race to salvation, yes it is,

a run of jubilee, freedom, victory

it’s not about who runs best

but in whom you decide to run

if let him set the pace for you

and follow the tracks he’s laid

Say it, yes say I messed up

And I will stand to be judged.

Tell me of my fate in this

So my heart can try taking it in

As I know my actions stand

What I did is seeded in our lives

A betrayal of what you believe

Of what I swore to keep pure

I let evil creep within our house

Of what I swore to keep pure

And it is now part of what I am.

Come and please talk to me today

Let me not walk away like this

As my heart truly wants to stay

Though what I did is deplorable

For you alone I would travel this earth

I still speak these same words at heart

words I said to you before masses

that you are my only princess

and for you I shall walk the earth

so that same smile I see stays forever

In what voice shall i sing of your mercies?

So those that listen can understand

Who it is that i sing these praises to

what clothes am i to wear my king,

as am to stand at your alter today

to speak of a grace that’s kept me

tell of this great counsellor i met

that unburdened me of my sorrows

and gave me a new purpose to live;

Teach me words to say, how to speak

for i know not how to describe you;

who you are, words can’t explain,

greater than greatness and being

author of life giver of breath

all these are no fit for who you are.

You as said are alpha and omega

what was and will become the almighty

the definition of love and glory

you are the rock that breaks death

waters that flow of healing and hope

the flames which light so bright

within the hearts of your followers

those flames that scatter darkness

burn all impunities of the soul

and make man a new being in you

dressed in your full armour; the belt of truth

the breastplate of righteousness,

shield of faith to stop flaming evil arrows,

helmet of salvation, sword of the Spirit,

which is your holy word wrote for to us all

dressed to wrestle the schemes of the devil

For a struggle not against flesh and blood,

but against the rulers, against the powers,

against the world rulers of this darkness,

against spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.

and victory shall be ours in the end

thanks be to you who gives us the victory

through our Lord Jesus Christ

                                                 AMEN

When I was a child, young and fragile.
I saw Jesus on my father's television
Believing his existence was easy.
And every time I went to bed,
I looked at his picture and talked to him.
I loved his pretty brown eyes.
I wanted to stay close to Jesus.

But now that I'm all grown up,
Everything I knew now seems different.
Complicated, full of fear and,
I don't understand any more.
Now no one knows how Jesus looks like!
And the Jesus I knew was behind cameras!
Believing is now so hard.

Sometimes I sat and read this bible.
Prayed very hard and hoped to grow.
But then I watch people die young
Even the ones like me that read and pray.
Its all confusing and overwhelming.
It makes me realise, not only was I a child,
But also naive and my faith was made stronger,

Today I sit and wish I could be a child again.
I believed in every prayer I made to God.
I was sure my wishes would come true.
But now the world has become cruel.
And faith seems like false hope
Yet it's the only thing I have to believe in.

What is it like waiting in that sleep?

Too long,

stressing

like a blink of an eye;

Who can make it after there?

those without stain,

the chosen,

believers;

Who shall welcome us?

strong winds,

cloud like people,

or voices without faces

What would it be like then?

white,

golden,

or chocolate;

Surely we cannot know unless we get there

it’s your decision, life or death,

there or not there,

seems simple but a place to want to be

I gave you passion, trust and love.
All that I had in me.
Now I spend time wondering,
Why did you throw it all away?

Sometimes I think I got to close.
I promised not to drop a tear,
Now that its all clear again,
My cheeks get wet over you.

What ever happened to not fighting?
Working all things out together?
I tell myself its going to be okay.
But you keep walking out the door.

It feels like am awakening from a dream.
And now the angels are disappearing.
Oh gravity! If only I could defy you.
May be I could sleep and dream again.

There are moments in life when it all seems like a valley-a dry and uncomfortable valley.

Situation after situation bugging you and it’s like you’re walking through a dark and scary tunnel.

It’s also at such moments that the Spirit encourages you to endure, to run the race with perseverance[1].

And hey, the same Spirit is also saying, “ARISE and SHINE!” just like He spoke through the Prophet Isaiah[2].

Arise from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you. Rise to a new life.

Shine – be radiant with the glory of the Lord.

The Spirit also says: “Your Light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!”

Your name,--- it was and still is her name.
questions always pricked her twisted mind
why that in all that she heard, be my name,
why be born, a time so crowded with sin,
if he knew about her at the start of time,
if he really had her in plan to live now,
whether she had a purpose on this land,
with doubt of being she lived each day
the dark that consumed her was strong,
all the earth was crushing down on her
she needed her empty pages painted,
painted with answers to her questions,
answers to change her, the times she lived,
make it a blessing to live in these times,
giving her reason to keep her moving on.
A day grows by and she met him, this child
he was so happy, joyful and full of a smile,
singing a song that touched her soul gently
like fresh airs, his breath touched her face
there she felt at peace and so loved,
it was like she had known him for long,
he took her broken heart and nursed it
she felt it, it was calm, different it was new
she realised it was him she was looking for,
the answer, the beginning and end of all life.

Deep In The Heart Of The Storm

Where The Waves Ferociously Roar

The Winds Beat Recklessly Against My Side

The Mighty Thunder Violently Sounds

And The Spark Of Lightning Is Too Much For Mine Eyes To Behold.

When The Mountains Crumble

And The Earth Beneath My Feet Gives Way

When Every Step Feels Like A Walk On Sinking Sand.

When The Darkness Descends On My Day

And I Can No Longer See The Way.

And Yet He Says "Be Still".

In My Finite Mind Those Words Couldn’t Have Been Any Further From Possible.

Oh! My Heart, Why Do You Not Trust?

Oh! My Mind, Why Do You Linger In The Dark?

Oh! My Soul, Why Art Thou Troubled?

The Weariness, The Labour, The Burden, The Darkness, The Doubt, The Fear,

All Crush Me From Within And Without.

Yet Will I Trust In The Lord

"Yea, Though I Walk Through The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death,

I Will Fear No Evil: For Thou Art With Me;

Thy Rod And Thy Staff They Comfort Me." Psalms 23:4.

Yet Will I Lean On Him Alone

"My Flesh And My Heart Faileth:

But God Is The Strength Of My Heart,

And My Portion For Ever." Psalm 73:23

Yet Will He Be My Anchor

"The LORD Is My Light And My Salvation;

Whom Shall I Fear?

The LORD Is The Strength Of My Life;

Of Whom Shall I Be Afraid?" Psalms 27:1

I Need Not Do Anything But Come To Him,

Who Holds My Life In His Hands,

And In This I Am Content, That What I Can't He Can.

"Come Unto Me, All Ye That Labour And Are Heavy Laden,

And I Will Give You Rest." Matthew 11:28.

Would the truth break you
Would it make you anew
Would it destroy your strength
Would it kill your very existence
Would it corrupt your human self
Would it end you
Would the truth break you

Would the truth set you free
Would it make you whole
Would it create your hope
Would it disintergrate your faith
Would it collapse your self respect
Would it finish you
Would the truth set you free

Would the truth save you
Would it untaint your image
Would it announce your innocence
Would it judge you righteous
Would it wash you clean
Would it console you
Would the truth save you

Would the truth mend you
Would it heal your emotions
Would it soothe the hurt
Would it dignify your soul
Would it give sense to your lies
Would it forgive you
Would the truth mend you

Would the truth make you
Would it stand as your witness
Would it fight for your guilt
Would it argue your faithfullness
Would it guard your verdict
Would it win you
Would the truth make you

Would the truth condemn you
Would it refuse your freedom
Would it leave you abandoned
Would it imprison your thoughtlessness
Would it send you away from humanity
Would it sentence you
Would the truth condemn you

What would the truth do to you
What would your truth do to you
Would it
Break you
Set you free
Save you
Mend you
Make you
Condemn you
What would the truth do to you
What would your truth do to you

“God Helps Those Who Help Themselves,” People Say

The Epitome Of False Knowledge

Why Do We Allow Such Folly To Invade Our Hearts!

God Is Not Man To Twist The Truth,

Has He Not Said, “My Power Works Best In Your Weakness?”

I Have The Liberty To Listen To That I Choose

I Refuse To Listen To The Ideas And Thoughts Of Mortals

Who Speak Out Of Their Exhaustible Knowledge!

“God Helps Those Who Help Themselves,” People Say

Sheer Emptiness…

God Helps Those Who Accept His Help

We Are Unable To Help Ourselves-Like Lost Sheep

Let Men Then Be Quiet

And Let No One Talk Of Who God Help Or Not!

The peace in my soul---,

voice heard from inside,

a wave of fresh soft winds,

presence of his great hand

endless blessings flow in

i found it that answer

it answers all there has been

and those there is to be,

it now lives in my heart,

opens my lips with its word,

feeds my ears the good news

my eyes, miraculous sights

there is a power in this, in me

a power meant for all to feel

a life worth to live, to have

receive, that’s a free cost life

a life only found in him alone

It is 10am Becky a graduate from Makerere University Business school has just woken up. Not that she has been asleep all the while she was just laying in there passing time before she thought of a better way to start her day other than her daily routine of waking up, taking a shower and then watch a movie or two. Today she is actually looking forward to something, she has to go to town and is expecting a phone call from a certain friend of her cousin's ex girlfriend's friend who promised to enlist her for an interview at a certain upcoming bank. That is all she has to do in town for the day she consoles herself that's better than sitting at home and doing nothing the whole day. She believes that her life is worse than that of a new born baby at least for a baby, there is a schedule made by his/ her mom for her to eat and sometimes if not most times cry for more and eventually got to sleep. The time now is noon and Becky calls her partners in crime for a job search Nina has a gig she can't make it, apparently her cousin got her a "kyeyo" for the day which gets her off the hook from spending the day at home. Doreen has been sent by her mum to some executive office "if only I worked there!" Doreen tells Becky. But when she gets off the phone, Becky says "...that is the least that we can do for our parents especially when we do not put any food on the table rather we just eat it all do the entire messenger work." So now she is left alone 'apparently they all have plot' as she referred to it so she waits for the lady friend to call as she waits she tries to dress up after she has done a spontaneous general cleaning of her one room twice in a row. It is spotlessly clean, one can hardly feel the vanish on the furniture so she sits around wondering what to do after dressing. She moves the plastic vase five times to and from the same position she doesn't even notice it. Then the sound of the old song traffic man officer "oh that's my phone" she is excited 'heavens it's her finally thought she would never call" she screams with excitement. Hi she says so... She gets the hit you can see it on her extremely disappointed face. When Becky gets off the phone she just starts undressing and when I ask her what they said she said they gave the job to someone else and they will call her after three months when they are enlisting again. I actually thought she would be filled with tears but no she gets back to her routine she looks for an old series that she has watched before and she looks to the screen steadily. And then she turns to me saying that's how it is so am used you let one day go at a time. That is the life of an unemployed Ugandan and I am wondering, Is this the future we have for all the millions of graduates that leave Universities in the country annually?

Should I say or not; tell me, Tell me now what am to say? Acquaint my heart with your desires and my blood shall flow of them. Read my breath and let this stay. Smile and give me my daily dream, let it come to life before my eyes with butterflies, stars floating round clouds kissing down to the earth. Keep me in my dream and let this stay. Draw me this moment unending and let it rest by my heart forever. Will me this glow that you bare crow it blandly to my whole being. Give me you, us and let this stay. Save me and keep me close to you bestow my life with a purpose to be and set me out to a new beginning where I shall have you in my arms say yes and let this, right here stay.

The Stranger
Minute And Tender But Treacherous
The Stranger
So Strong And Enigmatic But Amorous
We Got Off The Streets
In To Isolation

No One To Blame But
The Stranger
For The Twinge In My Heart
When I Do Not See You In Two Days
For The Comfort I Get At Dusk
When You Talk To Me At Dawn
For The Butterflies In My Stomach
When You Sit Right Next To Me
For The Confusion I Get
When I See You From A Distance
Knowing I Am Going To Run In To You
For The Goose Bumps I Feel
When Someone Mentions Your Name

This Invisible Molecule
The Stranger
Has Made Our Lives Ecstatic

We Used To Hug Now
We Embrace
We Used To Laugh For A Reason Now
We Do Frivolously
We Even Used To Feel Stupid In Silence Now
We Stare At Each Other In Approbation
Look What The Stranger Has Done
The Stranger Lives In Me And Is What I Feel.

Come sing to my ears endless Sing words of love and promise Let them hear of your voice A rhythmical breeze to my life As it forever echoes sweetness Come lay close by my side Let my face feel of your breath As a shiver runs through my skin So I feel you here and now A moment that shall be forever Come stand with me here Be my rock, my shoulder to lean Hold my hand so tight and close Give me of your great strength And may this last forever Come kiss my lips tonight And let my whole be lost in it Drawing through my veins To reach the deepest of my soul Awakening it forever to love Come lets share this moment As the world opens up to me To see it as it is so colourful And a spectacle to imagination That forever my mind shall have Come to church with me today Close your eyes; let me lead you As we share this dream together Listen to my words of promise Then say yes, yes forever I do.

Will thy father forgive my sin where I begin this walk?

Where, without much thought I hunger for satisfaction

with an endless craving that‘s drowned me to deep waters

enslaved me to the many desires of my own flesh

beauties of this earth, from which only sorrows i get

tearing me down, to addictions to what my eyes see

weakening my passionate inner self, my once joyful soul

this, a thirst that has drained my throat dry to cracks

that i see no better than what is put on this silver plate

with a thought that all on it is silvery like the plate.

Blinded from the body that he fed to his disciples

denying myself the fill of a satisfaction from his table.

so unworthy i have become in this very short time

and yes it’s true, am not worthy to think of his name

for i have sinned and now sin is all my heart beats to,

worked so hard to distance myself from his cross

in which i have succeeded as for today i am lost

lost to the darkness of guilt, my body is chained

to the walks that it led though it always saw his path

ignoring that tiny voice that would have saved me

that call that tried to warn me of those walks I led

Now;

listen as i cry, listen to how heavy my heart weighs

look at all these chains that have crippled my legs

that though he says he’s close by its hard to reach him

to break out of these grips, these chains that i created

to stand and take that only one little tiny first step

which, as he says is all that i have to do,

one decision, that would save me from all my sin

pull me out of this cloud of rot and prison of chains

and give me a second chance, open for a new chapter

with a new beginning, story and a new me.

In his room closed from the world

he sits eyes locked to a magazine

a prison that has grown around him

so strong he knows not how to leave.

He; little at sight yet heavy in mind

Denied his innocence, a right he lost

to a burdening sick habbit

that’s drained the light from his eyes

dragging him to a darkness of guilt

He is alone and will be tomorrow

For where he wonders no one walks;

broken, scared and confused he waits

in need of a friend, voice and a hope

and there HE speaks, so sweet

‘It’s alright my child am already there.’

Before the toilet mirror she stands

tears flowing down her young fair face

with her body coated in an earthquake

as her eyes open to her folded fist;

scared the test will read true her fears

fears she is to become a mother.,

he wants nothing to do with her now

and her guardian calls it the last stroll

to the streets alone she has turned,

rejected, cast out and named unworthy;

Lost to the eyes of all those around her

tries to speak but all ears are shut to her

the world so crowded but she stands alone,

she stands between her past and tomorrow

broken, scared and confused she waits

in need of a friend, voice and a hope

and there HE speaks, so sweet

‘It’s alright my child am already there.’

By the fire place far apart in thought

they sit unsure of when it got to this,

as she still hears his words at the altar,

speaking of how the heavens to him she was

a love that was, that was meant to stay.

He too mystified by how it all changed

for he loved her and his words he meant

as she lit up his whole being

but he knows not how it all vanished

as little with time those heavens closed;

the spark she held in her eyes melted out

and there it was lost, strangers they became

broken, scared and confused they wait

in need of a friend, voice and a hope

and there HE speaks, so sweet

‘It’s alright my children am already there.’

How did I get to become my today?

What did I do wrong and when did I fall?

Questions rain in like swarms of bees

eating at the last of my flesh I have left

throwing me deeper into a lonely hiding

afraid of what I have lived become

and what they that see me will think

i run, hide I become a stranger to myself.

Lost from what I believed and knew as good

engraved to my face a tattoo of failure

as I can never become what I was taught

a shame, disgrace, humiliation to my family

that no one would even speak of me now

in need of a friend, voice and a hope

and there HE speaks, so sweet

I hear the LORD and he is so close.

I hear him speak to my ear saying to me

‘It’s alright my child am already there

And I hear you.’

Listen to this song that sounds in mind

a beautiful piece of art, an angels’ voice

it’s taken me galaxies, worlds and places

seen more than there was for me to ever see

tasted more than there would be to taste

here is the song that we sing here today

a song of peace, oneness and harmony;

Listen to the song that sounds in unison

victory, a song of victory against him

all singing from every lands and hills

they have defeated him, yes their enemy

fought a war of wars, battle of battles

sleighed, the evil one put an end to war

the final victory is been handed to them

Listen to the song sounding in all lands

a song of conquerors, winners of the war

trumpets being blown from every nation

singing of his wonderful amazing grace

a healing power that he’s laid on them

a voice saying out loud, ‘it’s finished’

it’s a victory to be celebrated for eternity

Shall I possess the will to stand through

and speak audaciously to the hungry storms

that feed on our susceptible strides in life?

Shall my tongue never agree to their language;

A language to proclaim goats among sheep,

Where acceptance will give audience to all?

In point to have culture and faith bewildered?

As it would have fallen to the scents of deceit

Shall not my house choose to fall by truth

than live to slave their souls to pleasures,

blindness and death to self actualization;

that only which by truth one can achieve.

Shall our strive glow bright to the sight of many

and awaken their inner crave for all fullness.

Fullness of being and knowing that it’s finished

and our tomorrow shall be a new day.

Shall I not stand for him one more day

with my eyes and soul raised up to his holiness

where my peace, life and all hope comes from?

For today I stood strong with in wild storms

with all faith I smiled and declared myself free

said NO, no I shall not accept compromise

as I knew only by walking in truth would I gain victory

A Truth that he said will set me free.

They say life is our decisions effect

that which happens by our choices

coming by as good or bad for us

but that we stand with no matter

as we own them; so their effect

so today i will make one of mine

that I shall stand with no matter

Today I choose to tell you my mind’s;

Thoughts,

Dreams,

my heartbeat,

Breathe,

flow of my blood;

tell you of my desire.

Today I make this decision, I choose this life,

today I choose you and you alone

to share with the experiences of life,

you to rise above or even fall with;

you to become or remain here with.

Tell me what to say and that I will

turn my face and there I will look

guide my feet and that path I’ll walk

for am here by choice and I shall stay

as it’s my decision and my choice of life.

My heart tells me,

that I have found a home.

A place with light that lasts forever.

My soul has never felt gladder

than it is right now.

All the things I have built,

None of them matter right now.

Just being by your side is enough.

My heart tells me,

that I have been awakened.

I could live without everything and nothing:

the music, food, friends and family. But with you.

Nothing holds my happiness now.

Only the love you give that I have been addicted to.

Iam in love with you not knowing how you look like

Nor where you come from

My heart tells me,

You will make all that I call impossible possible.

That is why I choose to give you my life that belongs to you.

Knowing you are somewhere looking at me

Makes me feel more safe and sure of the steps I take.

Because you alone held my hand

from the dark till I saw the sunlight.

My heart tells me,

that I won’t be lonely again.

I shall not run again

Because the one true love exists in me

And that am sure he won’t be going anywhere

Unless his name isn’t Jesus.

Being with you makes me feel magic in the air.
As if the wind blows when I want it to.
I watch our love grow each day
Everyday I get swept away by what you do.
The only thing that matters now is you.
Everything including my breath can melt away.
Provided I can feel your arms around me.

There is no guarantee that life will be easy.
But with you, no wave can't be swept back.
I will always find my way home because of you.
This world has so much to offer
But over all that, I chose it have you.
You are just like a dream to me.
My strength can't fall apart now.

When I look at you, I see forgiveness.
Now I have inspiration that is just enough.
Like a song that has a beautiful melody.
I can't deny wanting you and loving you.
now that am flying way up high, like a bird.
I don't ever want to look down again.

He walked up to me on the sidewalk on my way home
As i stood waiting for a taxi
Reached out his arm to mine
Saying "please shake my hand"
Hesitantly i shook his,
wondering who does this

He opened his mouth but couldn't make sense from his mumbles
I set out to bounce
But he held the slits of my court
Finally saying something i thought
He told me he was very lucky to be
I asked how he figured and how he could be me
He gazed sternly up to the skies

I looked through his eyes wondering what he saw
Then he told me about a higher power
Like he knew what i was thinking.
Then again he said
"Am very lucky to be you"

Last night i watched your dreams
And saw what made you smile and cry
Touched each one of your thoughts
I reached my heart out to yours
Trying to figure out where it gets the rhythm with which it beats
It seemed so alien
I was so sad u couldn't see me
And when your friends talked down on us
You looked down with a beat face

See,
You and me don't exist
Except in a name
In a reality
In a covenant
You are me
And i am you.

So last night when u turned your life around
And wanted something real
I decided to come and put on flesh so i could speak to u
Very lucky to be u.
Each time you walk in the light
And shun dark walks
I see how lucky i am to be u

Right then a taxi came
I was dumbfounded
How could he be lucky to be me?

I took the back seat and tried to look at him one last time
Where he stood
He did no more.
I seemed to be a trance
How could i tell anyone about this old beggar?
Who would believe anyone would be lucky to be me?
My shame clouds my smile

If he would be lucky to be me
Then am going live my life
Like I'm lucky to be Me

From the GIVER to the RECEIVER

I have come to learn a lot from the GIVER-RECEIVER relationship. Scripture has it that it is that it is more blessed to give than to receive, in this sense it means the blessing flows to the GIVER when the RECEIVER takes up the position to willing fully receive (Acts 20:35)

In our Human relationships its more blessed to give than to receive. But in our relationship with God, its more blessed to receive than to give. You might wonder HOW?

Answer: Enjoyable life in a relationship is experienced if communication is heeded. Communication in our relationship with God is through PRAYER (Philippians 4:6). Enjoyable prayer is the kind where you are not just giving God your heart but you are receiving His as well. Its refreshing to come out of prayer when you have received. Heb4:16 invites us to come boldly unto the grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need. God is calling us to obtain which means to receive, take, personalize and own. Before ascending back to heaven, Jesus Christ in John20:22 breathed upon His disciples and said to them receive you the Holy spirit but to also introduce them to the great truth of receiving.

When I was wrapping this gift the one person, the one person who saw the ultimate gift was my brother so incase anyone was to know or tell the gift in the wrapper, they would have to inquire form him. Its just the same story with God and the Holyspirit, in our relationship with God we are to engage the Holyspirit so that we can have access/ knowledge of the ultimate gift- then we will know the will of the Father (the GIVER).

So dear RECEIVER open up each day and be ready to receive from God, the wider your heart opens, the more you will receive from the Father. It glorifies God for us to receive all things (John 14:13) Whatever we ask in Jesus name that will He do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Yours faithfully

God the GIVER

Am part of this great plant

the stem feeds me, holds me,

holds me up high to the sun

lets me have the best of being.

It gives me life, a life I have

Am a branch on this plant

i hold the fruit of this plant

my fruit is as good as I am

as sweet as I look and stand

the fruit is my value of being

Am a branch of a vine plant

a vine named Christ Jesus

that stands in a huge garden

a garden planted by my God

i am a branch of the true vine.

Take me from all these arms stretched out

Call out to my name, from those at mind

let your lips croon to my ears acceptance

lift my heart with in to a feel of happiness

Say it’s my house where you will lay at dusk

With your head pressed upon my chest

To awake me in dawn with your wonder smile

And the world shall today open wide for you.

Save me today, let me not leave here alone

Open my mind to a fairly land, make me new

Let me walk above all earth’s greatness

And for that moment it shall all be mine

My feet’s’ path shall be any man’s desire

My stand a model for all victory accounts

With you here, it will come still and silent

For history shall only come to speak of us

Today, this day is different and so bright

Saw how the skies opened up to the morning

The winds brushed by against the trees

With all swaying rhythmically side to side

Like everything was to a sound of a love song

God must have been listening in last night

That it all comes to now, this moment, you here

truly today is that day I get my feel of happiness.

Sometimes you turn back pages of life and you wonder how you got to where you are right now?   How did all sorts of unexplainable things happen to you but all you can remember is giving in to do them.

Many people have learnt things the hard way; just because one piece does not fit the puzzle does not mean it’s the end of your life. At times you realize that there’s no better place you would rather be than where you are, even if it’s discomforting, because out there, people are going through worse situations!

Great people that have made it in life did not just build Rome in one day; it took years, months, and days to gather up the success they have attained. It’s not the time to regret past experiences but the time to re write your life according to the dreams that you have always had.

Despite the peaks and pits you have gone through, it’s not the end of the road.
For some it’s the beginning of turmoil and to others the start of an easy journey. Some have learnt that to be a better person is to act one! No one is going to notice your desperate situation and do a thing about it but one thing for sure is that you will notice and do something about it.  This life is not a realm of paradise to walk through, but it’s one with challenges that you ought to win over! Believe me you have probably had this talk before, over and over again, but nothing has changed, maybe you think this kind of talk is some mystery but it’s not.

People are going to rubbish all kinds of words to your opinions, ideas even at the times you have put a lot of effort and devoted a chunk of time to develop something great, well! Are you going to rush back to your bed and feel sorry for yourself or hit the club and drown yourself in alcohol?? Definitely this kind of world is not for people like that!! There has always been one perfect example and much as you might not want to hear it or read it, it’s that one person that had his life straight, Jesus Christ!!!

Do not give up on yourself; keep trying till you get what you want. Otherwise you’re going to hate everything about life, you will blame it on the books, friends, parents, the government, the country yet in actual sense you stopped trying or even hesitated to beat the challenge!  Am just saying all this because we get exhausted of thinking of what to do without getting things started, but reminding yourself of the kind of life you want will surely get your brains working towards a greater calling otherwise your running out of time.

I had walked no further than home

so call me no fool as my mother cooked best

and father knew all secrets of the earth

what I had seen was perfect and heavenly

home is where I wanted to be tomorrow.

Winds blew and seasons came and past

and on my feet I could stand and walk well

with my mind, think of thinking beyond home

beyond this hill ‘obutahurira’ that stood before us

a hunger that grew greater than my ears

so strong a day came; I ascended there.

shutting out my father’s words against it

and there at the top my eyes saw the world

a beauty, magnificence; I saw paradise.

my father was wrong and he knew little.

this, here, now was what life was

I ate, saw all and lived it again and again

but within this splendor lay a darkness

a ravenous evil and cunning wave

this beauty was haunted by its very makers

murder, disease and deceit dwelled in it

nourished by those that worshiped it

there I awoke to my father’s words

and opened my mind back to his wisdom

‘obutahurira’ only leads to destruction.

I have walked to the furthest of lands

tasted the said to be best dishes of all

and spoken to those called the wisest

but none spoke and cooked with that love

a love, warmth that dwelled in my home

home is where my heart was molded

and there I shall find my tomorrow.

Flee and look not back to your past

Shake off all that hold you still

run, run that race past all pride and shame

and you will be saved from your own

that which pursues you and all that’s you

Run and look not back to your past

as that coming to you is a burning darkness

call, call on to thee that’s your refuge

and pray that you shall hear him speak

for its his word that will guide you home

Call and look not back to your past

let thee that hears all come to you

listen, listen and you shall hear his voice

as he always has he’ll come to your rescue

and in him Christ Jesus you shall be new.

Speak to me my dear love shut me not from your heart; let your eyes keep me at sight. Tell me of what you desire and I will walk this whole earth, move the world and universe; till the day you receive your wish for all I can do, all is possible as all I promised if you asked; if you let me come close to you as my only desire has always--- forever will be your happiness, joy and life in all its fullness for you; so let me in today and don’t look back.
